Soldiers and Sailors Monument The best known monument in Indianapolis, the Soldiers and Sailors Monument was completed in 1902 and commemorates the sacrifices made by the common soldier and sailor in all wars. At 284 feet 6 inches in height, it is only 15 feet shorter than the Statue of Liberty. Visitors can ride an elevator to to the top for views of Monument Circle and downtown Indianapolis |
