ISC Featured In Indianapolis Star

The Indianapolis Star published another article on ISC and Geist Reservoir in the July 31 edition. When ISC formed in 1955, Geist Reservoir was a very different body of water from what it is today. No houses lined the shoreline and the only boats on the lake were those belonging to ISC members. ISC Vice Commodore Bob Butsch gave an example of the rural nature of Geist in the 50s compared to the development of today:
"We called that Boy Scouts Point because the (kids) used to camp there," said Vice Commodore Bob Butch, pointing to an area near a large home that sits across from the club. "It's difficult for people to understand what this place looked like, because they're used to seeing all this (development). There was nothing on the shoreline but trees."
