ISC sailors regularly compete at the national level in their respective

| Results of US Sailing Offshore Championship (Lloyd Phoenix Trophy) |
|
After three days of racing at the US Sailing Offshore Championship hosted by Long Beach Yacht Club
in California, it ultimately boiled down to a duel between Marc Eagan (Metairie, LA) and Aaron Houston (Chicago, IL) to determine the winner. In the end,
Eagan’s consistent placing in the top four every race throughout the regatta earned him the National Champion title and US Sailing’s Lloyd Phoenix Trophy.
Joining Eagan on the winning boat were Stephen Murray, Jr. (New Orleans, LA), Quinn Eagan (New Orleans, LA), Jeff Hampton III (Metairie, LA), Karl Schutte
(New Orleans, LA), Tim Molony (Metairie, LA), and Charles Thompson (New Orleans, LA). The regatta was sailed in Catalina 37s.

| Results of US Sailing Match Racing Championship (Prince of Wales Trophy) |
|
The US Sailing Match Racing Championship was held at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club in Florida and just managed
to complete competition before the arrival of Hurricane Jeanne. The team from Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club,
with skipper Karl Ziegler (Norwalk, CT) and crew Dean Brenner (Wallingford, CT.) and Michael Welch (Boston,
MA) got to take home US SAILING’s Prince Of Wales Bowl after defeating ten other teams at the National
Championship. For Brenner, this is a record fourth U.S. Match Racing Championship title.

| Results of US Sailing Men's Championship (Mallory Cup) |
|
For a second consecutive year, Zak Fanberg (New Orleans, LA) has led his team representing Bay-Waveland Yacht Club
(Bay Saint Louis, MS) to the U.S. Men’s Sailing Championship title. Competing with crew Dave Blouin (Baton Rouge, LA)
and Kippy Chamberlain (Bay Saint Louis, MS), Fanberg took the lead on the first day of the U.S. Men’s Sailing Championship
and never gave it up throughout the four-day event hosted by the Long Beach Island Yacht Racing Association in New Jersey and
sailed on Lightnings.

| Orange II Sets Unofficial Record |
|
The maxi-catamaran Orange II has set a new unofficial record for the
Marseille to Carthage passage across the Mediterranean.
Orange II made the crossing on September 25th in 17h 56m 13s; 50 minutes faster than the current record holder
PlayStation (18h 46m 48s).

| Interlake Poltergeist Regatta NOR Posted |

The NOR for the Interlake Poltergeist Regatta has been posted on the
Race & Regatta page. The regatta is
scheduled for October 2-3 and all Interlake sailors are welcomed to attend.

*** REMINDER *** Open Sail Event This Weekend |
|
There will be an Open Sail Event on Saturday, September 25 at 10am. This will be a non-racing
event with a race course set up for use if desired. Day sailing is welcomed. A safety boat will
be on the water for any needed assistance or coaching. Use of club boats is first come, first
served. Call Mary Fridlund at XXX-XXXX to either reserve a club boat or to get setup with a
fleet boat to either skipper or crew or to get answers to any questions you may have regarding
the event.
Free snacks and good company will be available at noon. Come and take advantage of some practice
time and enjoy the lake before the weekend afternoon traffic.

| Highlander Indy 5 Regatta Results Posted |
|
Fourteen boats arrived to compete in the ISC Highlander Indy 5 Regatta this past weekend. Beautiful
weather made for an outstanding regatta weekend. The top places overall were as follows:
- 1st -- Tom Kling
- 2nd -- Jamey Carey
- 3rd -- Jim McDonald

| Results of US Sailing Team Racing Championship (Hinman Trophy) |
|
Team Cape Cod WHishbone narrowly defeated team Somerville Silver Panda, winning the US Sailing
George R. Hinman Trophy and qualifying for the
2005 Team Racing World Championship.
The competition ended in a tie between Cape Cod WHishbone and Somerville Silver Panda with the
tie-breaker going to Cape Cod WHishbone by virtue of having defeated Somerville Silver Panda
the last time they competed against each other in the event.
The members of Cape Cod WHishbone are: Mark Ivey, Tim Wadlow (49er Olympian), Karen Renzulli, Matt Lindblad,
Erin Largay and Timothy Fallon. Full coverage of the event can be found here.

| US Sailing Presents the Arthur B. Hanson Rescue Medal |
|
On July 27, 2004, US Sailing presented the
Arthur B. Hanson Rescue Medal
to Jessica Malkin, David Meleney, Julia Reeve and Patrick Malloy for the rescue of two men participating
in a man overboard drill on the ferryboat Islander in Vineyard Haven Harbor, MA. Full

| Snipe Indiana Open, Highlander Indy 5 and Thistle Naptown Regattas |
|
September is a busy month for invitational regattas at ISC. The schedule is as follows:
All of these regattas are historically well attended with good competition from both ISC
sailors and out-of-towners. ISC would like to invite anyone having a Snipe, Highlander or
Thistle to attend a regatta at ISC and enjoy racing on Geist!
