Interlake Fleet #28 revolves around a boat whose beauty and versatility is only dreamed about in other fleets. If you are looking for a weekend racer or a family oriented day-sailor, you have found a home. Although designed in the early 30's for Lake Erie's chop, she is well suited to Geist. She is easily handled by a two person crew but appreciates a third as the winds pick up. The Interlake has an active national organization supporting the boat with numerous Midwest traveler-series regattas and a National Championship Regatta. To complement the hardware, we have a strong fleet with its strong point being our cohesiveness-one happy family out for the common good. During the winter we hold monthly meetings as well as seminars to keep our skills sharp. The sailing season is another story. We have a gathering on the Interlake Boardwalk after each race. When all excuses have been heard, we move on to a local restaurant for dinner. We feel the social aspect has done much to make us one of the more active fleets and has led to our growth. The two highlights of our season are an invitational in August at the Bartlett's house on Lake Maxinkuckee for the "Blueberry Bash" and the "Poltergeist". The "Poltergeist" is Fleet #28's Interlake invitational regatta which is held in October in homage to the spirit that occupies Geist.

Whatever your skill level, you will find people willing to help you hone your sailing skills. Our fleet is broken into multiple skill levels, which guarantee you a competitive race regardless of your experience.
